Nutrition

Wallaceville Early Learning Village is equipped with a commercial kitchen where our chef prepares wholesome food during the day. During their time with us, your child will be offered morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. This will be done around rituals of well-being as we eat together

We value the importance of food and nutrition. We understand the role this plays in helping us development well balance mentally and physically. Mindfully becoming aware of different tastes and textures during the early years plays a significant role in the relationship children develops with food later on in their life.

We are partnering up with local regenerative farmers to both source and ‘co-create’ a garden of food that will become the hub of wellbeing for our tamariki and whãnau. The food prepared on-site will be New Zealand-grown, locally sourced (where possible), seasonal goodness. Dietary needs (like allergens) can be catered for upon special request.

Weekly Produce Pick Up

Nestled alongside the mighty Mangaroa River in the Hutt Valley water catchment, Mangaroa Farms is a resilient community food hub and education centre with 2000-acres of living laboratory for transitioning dairy & pine into regenerative agriculture and native forests. We are working with them to become a ‘produce pick up point’ for the farm so we can make healthy, locally grown produce available to our community.
